What is Commercial Online Banking?
Lake City Bank's commercial online banking service, called CommerciaLink, gives entrepreneurs, owners, and operators of small businesses the ability to manage their company's cash flow electronically, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from any computer connected to the Internet.
What banking functions will businesses be able to do online?
Business financial managers can view daily account balances and activity, review historical statement detail, transfer funds between accounts, create and send ACH transactions, initiate domestic and international wire transfers, stop payments, and communicate with Lake City Bank via secure e-mail.
How safe is this Service?
The Service offers 128-bit encryption, the highest level of security currently available. Additional security is provided through the use of firewalls that screen all data entering the host computers and the latest physical security methods.
Who or what is the administrator?
Designated persons in a company or business act as an administrator. Only administrators with authorization can log on to the administrative functions within the system.
What does the administrator need in order to log on to the Service?
The administrator will need the company's account number, a user identification number, and a password to log on to the system. All of these are supplied by the Cash Management Department at Lake City Bank. During the initial log on, the administrator will be requested to change the password. This is for security purposes. Once this is completed, the administrator will have access to the administrative functions of the system in order to set up the parameters for how other employees can use the Service.
What functions are included in the administrative system?
The administrator will be able to display the list of users, add users, modify users, delete users, change users, change the users' passwords, and change the administrator's password. In effect, through the administrative functions, the administrator can determine which other employees will be able to have access to the Service and at what level.
Who or what is a user?
A user is any other employee of the company who is given access to the Service. When the administrator adds a new user to the system, he/she determines the allowable activities, accessible accounts, and dollar limits for each of the accounts for that particular user. In this way, different users will be able to perform different functions with varying amounts of money at any point in time.
What if the administrator wants to change the allowable activities, accessible accounts, and dollar limits for a user?
This information about any user can be modified at any time by the administrator.
Does the administrator have to be set up also as a user in order to perform account transactions?
Yes.
What if a user leaves the employment of the business?
At that time, the administrator would delete the user from the Service.
How does a user log on to the system?
When the administrator adds the user to the Service, he/she assigns a password to that user. The user must use that password each time upon logging on to the Service. The user must also have the company's account number and a user identification number.
Can the user's password be changed?
Yes, the administrator may change the user password at any time. This is usually done because (1) the user forgot the password, (2) the user has let the password expire, and (3) the user has exceeded the number of invalid password attempts. However, whenever an administrator changes a user's password, the user is required to change that password upon logging on to the Service. This is a security measure to ensure that the administrator has no knowledge of the user's current password.
