What type of equipment do I need to use Trust Online?
A PC with a modem and Internet browser software, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.1, or Netscape 4.5, or higher. You'll also need an Internet Service Provider (ISP). Common ISPs locally are KC Online, Earthlink, America On-Line. Lake City Bank does not endorse or recommend any ISP provider.
Who do I contact for an Access ID and PIN?
First, you need to complete a Trust Online application. Please complete and mail the application to Lake City Bank, Attn: One Call Center, P. O. Box 1387, Warsaw, IN 46581-1387. We'll e-mail the set-up instructions, including an Access ID and PIN, to you within 5-7 business days after we receive the application.
Can other people access my account?
No. Your account information is protected with several layers of security and a unique Access ID and PIN. Trust Online Security
How often is my account updated?
Your account information on Trust Online is updated daily. The account holdings and account activity you see is from yesterday's close of business totals.
Can I reduce the number of account statements I receive in the mail?
Absolutely! Now that you have access to your account at any time, please let your Trust Officer/Administrator know if you would like to eliminate some of your account statements.
What happens if I forget my Access ID and/or PIN?
Please contact your Trust Officer/Administrator. We know your Access ID, but we'll have to give you a temporary PIN. You can then use this temporary PIN to log on to Trust Online. At that time, you'll have to change your temporary PIN to a permanent PIN. To change your PIN, please follow these instructions:
- At the Logon Screen, select the Change PIN option
- Enter your Access ID and PIN
- Click the Continue button
- The following information appears:
- Old PIN (type in your old PIN)
- New PIN (type in your new PIN, 6-8 characters)
- Retype New PIN (enter your new PIN again to verify it)
- Click the Continue button
- You should return to the Logon Screen
- Re-enter your Access ID and the new PIN
- Click the Continue button
- Your account list will appear; your new PIN is active.
What Web browsers are acceptable?
Currently, compatible Web browsers are Netscape 4.5 or higher, Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.1 or higher, and AOL 3.0 which uses Internet Explorer. This requires a 128-bit encrypted browser (Netscape 4.5 or Internet Explorer 4.1). New Browser Requirements
What is encryption?
Through encryption, your data (everything from your account numbers to account information) is converted into a series of unrecognizable numbers before they are exchanged over the Internet. This series of numbers creates a mathematical lock that only Lake City Bank and your browser have the keys to. Lake City Bank works with your Web browser to transform all your banking requests into an encrypted string of data, and then back again to the original requests. What's the difference between a 128-bit and a 40-bit encryption browser?
The difference between a 40-bit (international) and a 128-bit (domestic or string) encryption is a matter of degrees. Software using 128-bit encryption is roughly 300,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times stronger than 40-bit encryption. Note: The U. S. Government restricts its use to citizens and permanent residents of the United States and Canada, i.e., browsers that use 128-bit encryption may only be downloaded to locations in the United States and Canada.
