Line of Credit Sweep

If you use a line of credit for daily borrowing, we process items in your Lake City Bank business checking account and calculate a cash position at the end of the day. Excess funds (less a target balance if desired) are applied to pay down your line of credit. If the account has a deficit, Lake City Bank draws on the line of credit to bring the balance back to zero or your target amount. This process minimizes your line of credit balance and reduces interest expense.

Insured Cash Sweep® (ICS®)

ICS® is a safe cash management solution that enables access to FDIC insurance beyond $250,000 on large deposits placed into demand deposit accounts and money market deposit accounts while working directly with Lake City Bank. With ICS, your funds are eligible for multi-million-dollar FDIC insurance backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. government.

  • Receive one regular statement from Lake City Bank showing your ICS option balances or check your balances online with Lake City Bank Digital.
  • Support your community by keeping the full amount of your deposit local so we can fund more loans here in our communities.
  • Eliminate ongoing collateral tracking and the need to footnote uninsured deposits in financial statements if you are accustomed to these practices.

How Does ICS Work?

  • Designate an account. Identify a checking account or other transaction account to use with ICS. You may select an existing account or open a new one.
  • Complete the paperwork. Sign the applicable Deposit Placement Agreement and a custodial agreement.
  • Make your deposit. When placing funds through ICS, you work directly with Lake City Bank. At your direction or based on triggering events outlined in the applicable Deposit Placement Agreement, funds will be sent from your transaction account at Lake City Bank to deposit accounts at other FDIC-insured institutions in increments below the FDIC insurance maximum of $250,000. This way both principal and interest are eligible for FDIC insurance.

Here are the details

When deposited funds are exchanged on a dollar-for-dollar basis with other institutions that use ICS, our bank can use the full amount of a deposit placed through ICS for local lending, satisfying some depositors’ local investment goals or mandates. Alternatively, with a depositor’s consent, our bank may choose to receive fee income instead of deposits from other participating institutions. Under these circumstances, deposited funds would not be available for local lending.

Placement of funds through ICS is subject to the terms, conditions, and disclosures in the program agreements, including the Deposit Placement Agreement (“DPA”). Limits apply and customer eligibility criteria may apply. Although funds are placed at destination banks in amounts that do not exceed the FDIC standard maximum deposit insurance amount (“SMDIA”), a depositor’s balances at the relationship institution that places the funds may exceed the SMDIA (e.g., before settlement for a deposit or after settlement for a withdrawal) or be ineligible for FDIC insurance (if the relationship institution is not a bank). As stated in the DPA, the depositor is responsible for making any necessary arrangements to protect such balances consistent with applicable law. If the depositor is subject to restrictions on placement of its funds, the depositor is responsible for determining whether its use of ICS satisfies those restrictions. Bank Safe, Bank Smart, Insured Cash Sweep and ICS are registered service marks of IntraFi Network LLC. You may incur data usage/text messaging charges from your wireless provider when accessing your account through Lake City Bank Digital.

Zero Balance Account

A Zero Balance Account (ZBA) is a cash management tool designed to help you centralize funds and simplify how money moves across your business accounts.

With a ZBA, your account balance is automatically maintained at zero. Instead of holding funds in the account, all deposits are swept into a designated “concentration account,” where your business keeps its primary balance.

When checks, payments, or other debits are presented against the Zero Balance Account, funds are automatically transferred from the concentration account to cover those transactions. This happens seamlessly, so payments are processed without interruption.

How it helps your business:

  • Centralizes cash: Keeps your funds in one main account for better visibility and control
  • Simplifies reconciliation: Separates disbursement activity (like payroll or accounts payable) from your primary balance
  • Improves cash management: Allows you to fund accounts only when needed, helping optimize liquidity
  • Reduces idle balances: Eliminates the need to maintain excess funds in multiple accounts

Zero Balance Accounts are often used for specific purposes—such as payroll, accounts payable, or other controlled disbursement accounts—giving you greater organization and efficiency in managing your business finances.

Treasury Management Services and the fees associated with them are subject to the terms and conditions outlined in your Treasury Services Proposal with Lake City Bank. Contact your Corporate & Institutional Services Officer or call our support center at (844) 979-7164 for more information.
