Card Controls

After you’ve downloaded our Lake City Bank Digital app, follow these steps to set your debit card alerts and restrictions.

  1. Log in to our new app and tap Card Controls in the Account Services menu. This will pull up our new Card Controls app in your phone’s app store.
  2. Download the Card Controls app, then go back to the Lake City Bank Digital app and tap Card Controls again. This will open the Card Controls app.
  3. Tap Get Started.
  4. Enter your card information to add your card.
  5. Verify your identity.
  6. Reset your alerts and restrictions for the card.

After initial setup, you can add your other cards as needed. Tap Card Controls in the Lake City Bank Digital app Account Services menu to easily access the Card Controls app, and view and edit the alerts and restrictions on your cards. Don’t forget you can also turn your card on and off, a very helpful feature if your card gets lost or stolen! Remember, if you’re turning your debit card off because of fraud, you’ll still need to call the bank to close that card and order a new one. Turning your card off in Card Controls only prevents the card from being used while it’s turned off.

ACH Tips

Getting started with ACH is a one-time enrollment process. Once your account is set up, you can initiate ACH transactions for multiple payees without repeating the setup.

Use the tips below to help you manage ACH transactions effectively. If you have questions, please contact our One Call Center at (888) 522‑2265.

Authorization

To use ACH, you must have written authorization that includes language about reversing in case of error.

Retain authorization for two years after it is revoked because you must be able to provide it within five days if requested.

Pre-notes (test entries)

Pre-notes are test entries–you must wait until the third day following settlement of the pre-note to send the live entry. For example, send pre-note Wednesday. It is effective Thursday. Wait Friday and Monday for a correction or rejection. Send the live entry Tuesday. (If Monday is a federal holiday, send the live item on Wednesday.)

Class Codes

Standard Entry Class Code PPD is for consumer transactions; use it if the receiver is an individual.

Standard Entry Class Code CCD is for corporate transactions; use it if the receiver is a business.

Corrections

Notices of changes or rejects are available in Lake City Bank Digital (via single sign on to Reporting), usually before 10 am. (Correction reasons begin with a C and do not include dollar amounts. Reject reasons begin with an R and may or may not include dollar amounts.)

If you receive a correction, change the information either in the template or within your accounting software before sending another ACH transaction to that person/entity.

Returns

If you resubmit an ACH debit (collection) item that is returned for any reason, you must use RETRY PMT as the description. This includes NSF and uncollected funds items as well as items returned for administrative reasons such as account closed, no account/cannot locate, invalid account format, etc. Be sure to update your information and include this new description when you resend the payment. Use your normal description for all future payments from the same receiver.

If you charge a fee for a returned payment, charge it separately from the initial item and you must use RETURN FEE in the company entry description field.

If an item is returned as a stop payment (R-08), contact your client to ask why. Consumers are permitted to place a permanent stop payment on items from a company as well as a one-time/one-payment stop payment. Businesses are only permitted to place a one-time/one-payment stop payment.

If an item is returned as authorization revoked (R-07) or unauthorized (R-10 for consumer, R-29 for business), obtain a new authorization before sending any additional ACH transactions to that person/entity.
